Military breaks silence! Says 112 died, 97 injured in Rann IDP bombing

The head of the counter-insurgency operations in North-East Nigeria, Maj. Gen. Lucky Irabor, has finally broken the silence over the number of casualties recorded during the unfortunate bombing incidence at the Rann IDP camp.
Maj. Gen. Irabor during a press briefing on Thursday revealed that the January 17 Rann misfire, claimed the lives of 112 persons and injured 97 others with a coordinated emergency response immediately established after the incident for the rescue and treatment of the victims, while a surgical centre was equally set up.
Continuing, Irabor said the Chairman of Kala Balge Local Government Area, who earlier told the press that 236 persons were killed in the attack and the victims buried by his people, had come out to recant.
Maj. Gen Irabor said the chairman, in an apology which he had on tape, had come to apologise that he was pushed by extraneous forces to give the bogus figure.
He also revealed successes recorded in the last one month, noting that troops conducted several operations and recovered several arms and ammunition in Sambisa Forest.
